11.   Theory Test

11.1 Failure to provide your theory certificate number & pass date, or the fact that you have failed your theory test, or failure to respond to any reminders about your theory test, will mean we may be unable to book a practical driving test for the final day of your driving course. 11.2 If you fail your theory test, we/you will attempt to book another before your practical course, but be aware that this greatly reduces the time we have to book your practical driving test, which may mean you will be unable to have your practical test on the final day of the course. 11.3 If you were to fail the theory test, (or not take it for whatever reason), the practical course will still go ahead except for the final day, which we will hold back until you have passed the theory. This is at the discretion of the driving instructor providing the course. 11.4 We may require in exceptional circumstances a minimum of 4 weeks between passing the theory test and sitting the practical test. 11.5 If you do not go ahead with the agreed course date, your deposit will be forfeited.

12.   Driving Test

12.1 DoDrive® Driving School also specialise in booking short-notice driving tests. We may not be able guarantee which driving test centre your practical driving test will be at. However, we do aim to book it at the closest driving test centre to your home or agreed pickup point, but this is not always possible. Due to this, we look at the three nearest driving test centres in order to triple our chance of booking a short-notice driving test. Our short-notice driving test booking service is free to those who book an intensive driving course with DoDrive® Driving School. There is a £25 non-refundable admin fee for the short-notice driving test booking service (if not booking an intensive driving course with us). 12.2 DoDrive® Driving School takes no responsibility for driving test cancellations by the DVSA or if the student fails the eyesight test. 12.3 DoDrive® Driving School accepts no liability if the driving test is cancelled as a result of poor maintenance and/or cleanliness of the driving instructors car. We do not lease any dual controlled cars to driving instructors. All driving instructors used by us are self-employed and own their cars or lease them from an independent dual controlled car hire company. Any liability of loss incurred as a result of poor vehicle maintenance and/or cleanliness is with the driving instructor. 12.4 If DoDrive® Driving School book a driving test for you through our driving test booking system, unless you request otherwise, your driving test report may be sent to us via email and forwarded to you upon receipt. By using our driving test booking system, you agree to us receiving your driving test report by email and forwarding it to you upon receipt. This will only happen if the driving test examiner uses a digital version of the DL25 driving test report on an iPad, rather than the traditional paper version.

13.   Course Conditions

13.1 If the student is unable to read a number-plate at the required distance, with or without glasses/lenses the instructor may refuse to allow the student to drive, as their eyesight doesn't meet the required standard. We advise students to have their eyesight checked before beginning any of our driving courses. 13.2 If the student cannot take their theory test for any reason, the instructor reserves the right to go ahead with the students driver training, but with reserving some for when the theory test has been taken and passed. 13.3 If the student fails the theory test or does not take it for whatever reason, the practical driving course will still go ahead except for the driving test day, which we will reserve until the student has passed the theory test. However, this is at the discretion of the driving instructor providing the driving course. If the student chooses not go ahead with the original driving course date(s), the students deposit will be forfeited. 13.4 We try to organise a driving course so that there is a sufficient time gap between the theory test and the practical driving course. This gives us the time to book the practical driving test. If the student fails the theory test, we or they if booking their own, will book another theory test a minimum of 4 weeks before the practical driving course start date, but this may reduce the chance of getting a practical driving test to coincide with the driving course date(s). 13.5 The student must hold a valid provisional driving licence or full driving licence for category B. 13.6 The student accepts that they are solely responsible for booking a driving course that meets their needs and experience. Experience is based on hours with an approved driving instructor. 13.7 If the student doesn't reach the required standard of driving by the day of their driving test, they may be refused the use of the driving instructors car incurring the loss of the driving test fee. 13.8 If the student is not already one of ours; i.e not on our database, they may be asked for a copy of their DL25 driving test report as verification of a previous test result when booking a 9 or 15 hour intensive driving course. 13.9 DoDrive® Driving School cannot be held responsible for bad weather or examiner strikes that results in the cancellation of the students theory or practical driving test. We will try our best to reschedule tests to suit both the student and driving instructor, but this may lead to delays. 13.10 DoDrive® Driving School encourage all driving instructors not teach test routes, instead we encourage them to focus on teaching you how to drive, being able to recognise different situations, how to read road signs and markings, how to deal with different types of junctions.

14.   Licensing

14.1 The student must ensure that they have a valid signed driving licence for category B motor vehicle. 14.2 The student must produce their driving licence before the commencement of their first driving lesson. 14.3 Instructors must be approved by the DVSA to give instruction for reward. 14.4 Instructors must display the approval certificate issued by the DVSA in the windscreen at all times whilst undertaking driving instruction for reward.

15.   Motor Insurance

15.1 The driving instructor will have an appropriate driving instructor motor insurance policy should the student be involved in a collision. 15.2 The driving instructor reserves the right to charge for any non-insured damage caused due to the students negligence. 15.3 The driving instructors motor insurance policy will only cover the student for the use of the tuition vehicle whilst on driving lessons and during the practical driving test. The driving instructors motor insurance policy will not cover the student for any private practice or any other vehicle. 15.4 DoDrive® Driving School takes no responsibility whatsoever for any claims of damage to property and/or persons using tuition vehicles not owned by us. DoDrive® Driving School does not lease any dual controlled cars to driving instructors. 16.   Toll Charges

16.1 Any toll charges and congestion charges are to paid by the student, in cash to the instructor. Dartford Crossing charge is £2.50 each way, but free between 22:00 - 06:00. London Congestion Zone charge is £11.50 per day, but free between 18:00 - 07:00 & weekends. 16.2 Due to the driving test centres being outside of the congestion zone, many students who live within the congestion zone choose to travel outside of the zone to meet their driving instructor at a train station near to the driving test centre.

17.   PCNs & Fines

17.1 The driving instructor will at all times try to ensure that the pupil does not incur any PCNs, penalty points or fines during their course of driving tuition. However, the student is solely liable for any penalty charges, penalty points or fines incurred as a result of their driver errors or negligence. 17.2 The student is the driver of the vehicle and as such, the student takes full responsibility for all PCNs, penalty points or fines incurred during their driving lessons and during their driving test. 17.3 The driving instructor is the supervisor of the student whilst conducting driving lessons, and the examiner is there as an observer of the student whilst conducting the driving test. At no point is the instructor or the examiner considered the driver of the vehicle, unless they are sat in the driving seat with the engine running. 17.4 It is an offence, if the supervisor fails to give the driver’s details to the DVLA or Police when asked to provide information as to who was driving at the time of an offence.

In these circumstances the driving lesson fee is forfeited and it is at the driving instructors discretion if he or she provides transport home for the student. 19.3 The student will ensure they are fully ready for their driving lesson at the arranged time. Your allocated driving instructor will only wait for 15 minutes from the start time of the driving lesson. Beyond this time the lesson will be deemed to have been cancelled and the fee for the entire period of the booking is forfeited. 19.4 The student accepts that if they are late for an arranged driving lesson, that the time will be deducted from the driving lesson at the students expense. Lessons that start late through the student’s fault, will finish at the original booking time and will be charged for at the full rate. Exceptions may be considered at the descretion of the allocated driving instructor.

20.   Personal Hygiene

20.1 Due to the fact that driving lessons are conducted in a small shared space. It is vitally important to ensure that you maintain proper personal hygiene and that your clothing does not smell. 20.2 We understand that some students may choose to be picked up from work. But wearing dirty work clothes and/or shoes during driving lessons is not exceptable unless agreed with your driving instructor. 20.3 The driving instructor can at any time refuse to conduct the driving lesson due to the student presenting themself for a driving lesson with poor personal hygiene, smelly or with dirty clothing and/or shoes.
